A Day in the Life - Tanita

Accountant (Johannesburg, South Africa)

How long have you worked for Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS)?

I am very new to Kerridge Commercial Systems, I only started in March this year. I was the audit manager on the audit of KCS SA where I was first introduced to the company and the team. I was delighted to join the team in the Accountant role when the opportunity was presented.

Describe your typical day

I typically have a busy day with an array of functions to perform. Recently it has been rather busy with the Babbage upgrade for KCS SA. Generally, I am Andries’, our Financial Director’s, right hand lady. I perform tasks such as month end reporting, finalising financial statements, performing tax computations and assisting the rest of the finance team as much as I can on a day to day basis.

What do you like best about KCS?

Richard Branson once said “Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients” – I believe this to be true with KCS, from Team Building to coffee catch ups and Ian’s Q&A’s, it’s clear to see that the KCS Group Management are always conscious of and concerned about the wellbeing and happiness of their staff.

What would be useful for new hires to know about Kerridge Commercial Systems?

Kerridge Commercial Systems is ever expanding - there is endless opportunity for growth both for the business and for us as individuals. No matter how long you have been at KCS (be it 5 months or 5 years), you learn something new every day and are able to challenge yourself, which allows for an exciting workplace.
